Fw: Red Meat

21st dems banner
Dear lorenzo,

Where are the jobs?  This Republican majority in the House promised that jobs were the top priority they would focus on when elected, but they haven’t done one thing to create jobs.  What have the Republicans done so far?  They’ve been throwing red meat to their right-wing base.

They voted to give power back to health insurance companies.  They pledged to deny any money to enact health care reform.  And they’ve been working to pass laws that put women in danger, just to please right-wing extremist.

We aren’t taking this lying down.  We’re standing strong with progressive leaders like Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.  She’s standing up to these outrageous Republican attacks and not backing down.

We need you to stand with us as we fight back against right-wing radicals.  We need the Republicans in the House working to create jobs, not pandering to their right-wing base.  We need you to join us in demanding that the Republicans in the House work to create jobs not put peoples’ health in jeopardy.

Should we spend our hard or easily earned money(if earning money can be easy..?) with brands that promote of the "N" word?

I was recently in a Marc Ecko store and they were playing a Lil Wayne song...lyrics went a little something like this..."shorty says the "N" that she with ain't s***..."

Immediately I went to the cash, asked for their head office number and store managers name...I will definitely keep you abreast of the situation.

Chronic Dysfunction Found In Death Investigations

TV shows often depict forensic pathologists as champions of the dead, solving crimes with high-tech tools and specialized know-how. But the reality of death investigation is much different. A joint Frontline-NPR-ProPublica investigation uncovered pervasive dysfunction in many death investigations.

House Meets At: First Vote Predicted: Last Vote Predicted:
10:00 a.m.: Morning Hour

12:00 p.m.: Legislative Business

Fifteen “One Minutes” per side
1:00 – 2:00 p.m.2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Suspensions (2 Bills)

  1. S. 188 - A bill to designate the United States courthouse under construction at 98 West First Street, Yuma, Arizona, as the "John M. Roll United States Courthouse" (Sen. McCain - Transportation and Infrastructure)

  2. H.R. 519 - To cut the United Nations Tax Equalization Fund (Rep. Ros-Lehtinen - Foreign Affairs) This bill would direct the United Nations to return $179 million from the United Nations Tax Equalization Fund to the United States. It also requires that an equal amount of future U.S. dues to the U.N. be withheld if the return payment is not made.

The United Nations has already designated $100 million of this money for security enhancements at the U.N., requested by the New York Police Department in light of terrorist and other threats. The remaining funds will be used to pay down U.S. dues for peacekeeping missions around the world. Since the money has already been designated for these purposes, the cutting language is a dangerous gimmick and the certification is unattainable for the U.N. The Congressional Budget Office estimates no savings from enactment of this legislation. Members are urged to vote NO

The Daily Quote
"This all comes at a difficult time for House Republicans. After spending the past two years contending that sky-high unemployment was tied to Democratic governance, aides in the leadership have not been able to convert their efforts to cut spending into a message of creating jobs."
