When you see catastrophic, once-in-a-century
storms in places the military-corporate government
has an interesting in destabilizing - Cuba, Pakistan,
the US Gulf Coast - know this:

The US military has the capacity to modify weather
since the 1960s.
They can reduce the impact of storms - or amplify
them.

Tear Down This ... surplus! (Reagan)

For tribute being paid to President Reagan at the 100-year mark of his day
of birth, one huge impact of the Reagan years may be forgotten. That's
because it's at odds with the "rebirth" theme that's in vogue for the
centennial reminiscence. In his 2 terms, the President pursued a
government-deficit, tax-cut, soaring dollar  policy which turned the
economy sharply to buying heavily goods made in other countries instead of
buying American, selling US assets and bonds (instead of goods) to
foreigners, and turning the US into a net debtor nation.  For the first
time in modern times when the nation was not at war, we were financing our
economy by giving foreigners more ownership of our assets than our
financial stake in assets abroad. We are still reckoning with the monetary
fallout.
