Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

I don't care what they say, pictures like this don't lie.  Now we really know why most things don't get done in a timely manner.

Snopes verifies this is an actual photograph - - - Is there any wonder why (1) California is in such a fiscal mess (we KNOW the legislators don't work together, and now we know they don't play together, either); (2) we need term limits, and (3) we need to vote incumbents OUT!  And to make matters worse, this was sent to me by an out-of-state friend - how embarrassing!
A MUST SEE PICTURE

OUR CONGRESS AT WORK.

Should we buy them larger screen computers - or - a ticket home, permanently?

Nothing else need to be said.  This is one of their THREE DAY WORK WEEKS that we all pay for.  I am ready to start from the beginning by voting out all elected officials and not letting any of them stay in office for more than two terms.  No more lifelong healthcare, retirement, voting in their own pay raises, taking perks on our taxes, etc.

House Minority Leader  Lawrence F. Cafero Jr., R-Norwalk, pictured standing, far  right, speaks while colleagues Rep. Barbara Lambert,  D-Milford and Rep. Jack F. Hennessy, D-Bridgeport, play solitaire Monday night as the House convened to vote on a  new budget. (AP)

The guy sitting in the row in front of these two...  he's on Facebook, and the guy behind Hennessy is checking out the baseball scores.

These are the folks that can't get the budget out by Oct. 1,  Seriously!!!

So, weve got a 30 day budget extension. Well, guess what, 30 days from now we will be in the same boat. I guess this makes it easy for the news reporters as all they have to do is recycle the same headlines from this week and from 2 years ago. And these yo-yos will still be playing SOLITAIRE!!!

I'm all for voting ALL out and start with a clean slate! Max terms and no life time benefits!!!

KEEP THIS GOING, DON'T LET IT STOP WITH YOU!!!

Afghan journalist injured in acid attack

An Afghan journalist suffered first-degree burns in an acid attack in the capital earlier this week, a report said.

Razaq Mamoon is a writer and television presenter, according to Reporters Without Borders, a media rights organization.

Mamoon was attacked with acid Tuesday night as he left home, the group said. He is hospitalized with nonlife-threatening injuries.

A suspect, identified only as Rafiullah, has been arrested, the Interior Ministry said Friday.

Reporters Without Borders is urging the Afghan government to fully investigate the attack.

"We have already identified a dozen or so cases of violence against Afghan journalists for 2011," the group said. "The authors and originators of this barbarous act must be swiftly identified and arrested."

Acid attacks on journalists are not common in the country, according to NIA, an Afghan organization that protects journalists

New HUD Rules Released on Housing Discrimination

Posted: 21 Jan 2011 06:30 AM PST

Great new rules, if for anything they're setting the tone when it comes to housing:

housing-new-york.jpgMost notably, the rules would prohibit lenders from using sexual orientation or gender identity as a basis to determine a borrower's eligibility for Federal Housing Administration-insured mortgage financing.

The HUD also said that HUD programs would define "family" broadly, which seems to be a way to work around DOMA:

The proposed rule states, "The majority of HUD's rental housing and homeownership programs already interpret 'family' broadly. ... This proposed rule clarifies that families who otherwise eligible for HUD programs may not be excluded because one or more members of the family may be an LGBT individual or have an LGBT relationship or be perceived to be such an individual or in such relationship."

Also, they're going to ban housing programs from asking people about their sexual orientation and gender identity:

Top staff members for key congressional Republicans met behind closed door Tuesday with energy lobbyists to "work on strategy to handcuff the Obama administration's climate change agenda." "[W]e pretty strongly told them we do need your help to get this done," a Republican aide told Politico. "And when we walked away from the meeting the feeling was we got that."Neely Fuller, Jr On Identifying Racists http://t.co/3lLi2zH                                                                                                        Words are important under the system of Racism http://t.co/jsR2eMF

Florida hate pastor Terry Jones has been denied entry into Britain . "The government opposes extremism in all its forms which is why we have excluded Pastor Terry Jones from the UK," a Home Office spokesperson said. Jones garnered international attention last year when he threatened to burn Qurans on 9/11.

Right-wing anti-Muslim expert Steve Emerson is enraged that he hasn't been invited to testify during Rep. Peter King's (R-NY) hearings on radical Islam.

Advocacy group Common Cause filed a petition with the DOJ yesterday asking it to "investigate potential conflicts by Justices Scalia and Thomas" in hearing campaign finance cases "and move for their disqualification from the landmark Citizens United case." Citing the Justices' invitation to conservative financier Charles Koch's retreat this month, the group alleges "they may be biased" toward Koch who spent millions on 2010 campaigns. http://t.co/kSJR71Z

Former RNC Chairman Michael Steele told CNN yesterday that he believes the GOP is relieved he was not re-elected to lead the party again: "I think the people in the party, particularly the establishment, are breathing a sigh of relief," Steele said. "They have control of the RNC now; let's see what they do with it."

Defense Secretary Robert Gates will soon lift the ban on initiating new cases against Guantanamo detainees in preparation to increase the use of military commissions for prosecution. Imposed "on the day of President Obama's inauguration," the overturned ban will be accompanied by "an executive order to create a parole board-like system" to review cases of nearly 50 detainees who would be held without trial.

At a briefing hosted by the Economic Policy Institute, the Century Foundation, and Demos yesterday, major pollsters said that President Obama's failure to say he will rule regressive cuts to Social Security off the table is "turning off voters."  White Supremacy's "Mulatto" Factor http://t.co/y6vjEPo  One of the poll results from Lake Research Partners finds that perhaps for the first time ever, voters are trusting Republicans more than Democrats when it comes to Social Security.

The Republican-controlled House of Representatives passed a repeal of health care reform yesterday, by a 245-189 vote. The Senate is not expected to take up the bill, and President Obama has said he will veto any attempt at repeal.

The Associated Press reports that the GOP's campaign promise of cutting $100 billion from the federal budget and returning to 2008 levels of spending could mean huge cuts in programs that serve millions of Americans. Included among the cuts would be Pell Grants being cut back by more than $1,000 per student and a 16 percent cut to the FBI budget. http://t.co/OV7tI7Y  ,

And finally: Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) invented a drinking game yesterday for observers of congressional Republicans' attempts to repeal President Obama's health care law: " you take a shot every time a Republican lies ." Speaking on the house floor, Weiner made sure to encourage people to "get a designated driver," as they would have to take a lot of shots.
